Pente Crowd /
Pente is a Greek word for five. Epsilon was extended on March 2, 1952 at the University of the East, Azcaraga Street, Manila. It became the Fifth chapter of Alpha Phi Omega Philippines National Service Fraternity (although U.E. as a Petitioning group gained official national charter several years earlier than Gamma Chapter at Silliman University and a full week ahead of Delta Chapter installed at the Mapua Institute of Technology). These seeming anomalies occured during the formative years of APO Philippines as a growing national Greek-letter organization when chapter names were pre-assigned or "promised" by fraternity officers ahead of college or university approval by school authorities. For reference charter installation dates for Epsilon, Delta and Gamma are reflected in official national archives/records or may be viewed at www.apo.org.ph Website. These early APO colonies continue to exist today serving the needs of schools and studentry, community and country and members of this co-ed organization.
